Wright – Mr. Garald Evan Wright, beloved husband of Mrs. Leona Wright of Vauxhall, passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2005 at the age of 62 years. Garald was born on March 21, 1943 in Cardston, Alberta, the son of Ted and Frances Wright. He received his schooling in Bow Island, Cardston and Picture Butte. On August 3, 1971 he married Leona. Garald worked with the Co-op at Vauxhall, Barons and Brooks, retiring in 1997. At the time of his passing, Garald drove school bus for Cardinal Bus Lines. Over the years, both Garald and Leona were involved in minor sports and various community clubs. Besides his loving wife Leona, he leaves his mother Frances Wright of Vauxhall, four children Diane Tilma of Vancouver, Donna (Rob) Forsyth of Vauxhall, Darryl Wright and Darren Wright (Jennifer) both of Taber; grandchildren Brenda, Dwight and Kimberlee Forsyth, Khristofre, Chara and Briley Remillard (Scott Stebner); a great granddaughter Shaylynn and extended grandchildren Paige, Thomas, Jeffery, Brook-Lyn, Austin and Kali; brothers and sisters Norm (Laurel), Valerie Louwerse, Marilyn (Gary) McLeod and Cheryl (Eugene) Dutchak.
WRIGHT – Carol Elizabeth Wright, beloved wife of Doug Wright of Taber, passed away after a long struggle with Lymphoma and ALS, on July 23, 2008 at the age of 53 years.

Wright – Margaret Elaine (Patterson) Wright was born in Raymond on Oct. 12, 1922. She was the third child of nine born to Georgie Elgie Patterson and Gertrude Leaver (Neal) Patterson. Margaret passed away in Brooks on Sunday June 22, 2008 at the age of 85. Margaret was raised in Raymond until the death of her mother in 1931. At the age of nine she was taken to live with Niels and Verda Michelsen in Stirling, to help take care of their child while Verda worked in the yard.
Wutzke – David Merle Wutzke of Brooks passed away in Medicine Hat on July 9th, 2006 at the age of 56 years. Born in Lethbridge on June 19th, 1950 Dave was raised in Bow Island and later moved to Brooks. He graduated from Senator Gershaw High School in Bow Island. Dave was the 2006 Brooks Citizen of the Year.
WYLIE – Stephen John Wylie was born to Lionel and Louise Wylie at Hardisty, Alberta on September 10, 1970 and passed away at Brooks, Alberta on April 4, 2008 at the age of 37 years. Funeral service was held on Saturday, April 12, 2008, Sedgewick Church of the Nazarene at 2 pm. Interment in the Sedgewick Cemetery.
Steve grew up on a farm south of Lougheed. He attended elementary school at Lougheed, taking his high school at Central High in Sedgewick. He later enrolled in Olds College and then went to the University of Alberta in Edmonton where he graduated with distinction with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture. He was initially employed at the County of Flagstaff in Sedgewick, followed by the County of Leduc. For the past twelve years, he worked for the County of Newell in Brooks as Agricultural Fieldman, and most recently as Superintendent of Public Works.
Yarrow – Joseph Gerald Yarrow of Brooks, beloved husband of Delma Yarrow, passed away in Brooks on Wednesday, January 4th, 2016 at the age of 76 years. Joe was born May 8, 1940 in Selkirk, MB. to Peter and Sylvia Yarrow and moved to Calgary at age two. He grew up in Calgary and worked at Shopeasy and Jenkins Groceteria from 1954 to late 1960’s and moved to Brooks in 1961 to work at Jenkins and Tomboy. Joe left the grocery business in 1967 and worked various jobs and returned to the grocery business until 1978. Joe went to work for Pan Canadian Petroleum in November of 1978, until retirement after 26 years.
1940 ~ YEOMANS ~ 2014
Alan William Yeomans of Brooks, Alberta passed away in Calgary on Friday, September 26th, 2014 at the age of 74 years. He is survived by his two sons, George (Brenda) of Medicine Hat and Darwin (Marie) of Brooks; and five grandsons, Brent (Teah), Mitchell, Scott, Chad and Ethan. He is also survived by his siblings, Chuck (Greta), Carole Anne, Sandy and Glenn. Alan was predeceased by his parents, Samuel and Ethel; one brother, Jay; and one sister, Louise. Alan was born on the family farm near Pickardville, Alberta on January 13th, 1940.
YEWCHUK – Stephan (Steve) Yewchuk of Brooks, beloved husband of Mary Yewchuk, passed away peacefully in Brooks on May 18th, 2005 at the age of 95 years. Born in Verbitsi, Ukraine on January 6th, 1910, Steve immigrated to Canada at the age 19. He settled near Patricia, Alberta where his sisters Helen and Katie lived. Steve spent his first six years in Canada working for the Eide Brothers and other ranchers before buying his own farm in 1945. Steve and Mary (Richter) were married in Calgary on March 15th, 1946 where Steve continued farming and driving the local school bus until selling the farm and moving to Brooks in 1963.
September 28, 1948 – July 17, 2016
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald James Yewchuk on Sunday, July 17, 2016 at the age of 67. Born in Brooks, Alberta on September 28, 1948, Ron was the second of Steve and Mary Yewchuk’s four children. Ronnie’s younger years were spent on the family farm east of Patricia in the small hamlet, Imperial Colony. A strong athlete, Ron will be remembered for his love of sports excelling at everything from football to baseball.
