    Reimer – Abraham John Reimer of Calgary, beloved husband of the late Pat Reimer, passed away peacefully in Calgary on May 8th, 2005 at the age of 82 years. Born in Russia on December 27th, 1922 Abe immigrated to Canada at an early age and received his education at Duck Lake, Alberta. He worked a variety of jobs before farming with his brother Jake in the late 40’s north of Bassano. Abe and Patricia Lassiter were married in Calgary on July 21st, 1952 and continued farming until retiring to Bassano and later to Calgary. He loved his family, traveling, golfing and singing in the choir. Abe will be remembered for his sense of humour, kindness and generosity. He was predeceased by his wife Pat on July 26th, 2001, 2 brothers Jake and John and 2 sisters Anna and Sarah. Abe is survived by his loving family, sons, Bruce (Merle) of Fort McMurray, Jim (Wendy) of Red Deer, Bernard (Janet) of Calgary and Stephen of Calgary; daughter Janine (Jerome) Johnson of Calgary; grandchildren, Trudy (Trevor) Lamb, Jason, Laurie, Roger, Tyler, Danielle, Alec, Anna, Trella and Keanna; great grandson Cole Lamb; 2 sisters Mary (Lawrence) Lukacs and Helen (Ernie) Berman; brother George (Ruth) Reimer and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM on Monday, May 16th from Knox Presbyterian Church, Bassano. Rev. Jake Doerksen officiated. Active Pallbearers were Jerome Johnson, Alec Reimer, Tyler Reimer, Jason Reimer, Allan Reimer and Randy Hein.
