Reimer – Willy “Bill” Reimer of Brooks passed away in Brooks on June 1st, 2009 at the age of 89 years. Born on March 18th, 1920 in Wymark, Saskatchewan to Abram and Margaretha Reimer he was the sixth child of fourteen. He married Helen Wiebe on January 24th, 1941 and together they had ten children. Bill worked in the gold mines of Ontario, Kitimat, British Columbia, Saskatchewan and southern Alberta. He worked as a plasterer and stuccoer in Saskatchewan and continued after moving to Alberta in 1950, an occupation he continued until he turned 70. Bill taught all of his sons how to stucco and Gordon worked with Dad for seventeen years. He was predeceased by his wife Lena in 2005, parents, 5 children, 8 siblings and one great grandchild. Bill is survived by 5 children, 5 siblings, 23 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and numerous other family members. Graveside services were held at Brooks Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers were Bill’s grandchildren. Active Pallbearers were Bill’s children. A funeral reception was held on Monday, June 8th at 3:00 PM from Cassils Community Centre.
