Reimer – Helen Reimer (nee Wiebe) passed away in Brooks on January 3rd, 2005. She was born August 9th, 1920 in Lost River, Saskatchewan. When she was a child her family moved a lot as her father taught in German schools. Trips included a trek in a covered wagon from south Saskatchewan to High Prairie, Alberta when she was seven. Her father passed away in High Prairie when she was eight. Her mother and the five children moved back to southern Saskatchewan where her mother married a man with 9 children. She married Bill Reimer on January 24th, 1941 and the couple lived in southern Saskatchewan, Timmins Ontario, Coaldale, Gem and lastly Brooks. In the last few years Helen resided in assisted living facilities in Brooks, where she received excellent care. She is survived by her children Eileen (Brian) Fournier, Vernon (Elaine) Reimer, Gordon (Laurie) Reimer, Luella Reimer, Walter (Edith) Reimer, Bruce (Bonnie) Reimer. She is also survived by Bill Reimer, son-in-law Mike Boras, daughter-in-law Lorna Landis, sisters Betty Hagen and Mary Reddekop, sister-in-law Susan Wiebe, 23 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughters Dorothy (2004), Linda (1943) and an infant (1946), by her son Randy (1987) and by 3 brothers and a sister. Her greatest joy in her life was her family who were present at her passing. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 8th from the Brooks United Church. Rev. George Edmonds officiating.
