    TOMLINSON- George Winston Tomlinson, beloved husband of Yvonne, passed away in Brooks on August 15th, 2003 at the age of 86 years. Winston was born in Estavan, Saskatchewan on December 27th, 1916 and moved to Brandon with his family. He came to Alberta in May of 1937 to Blackie, later moved to Roselyn to manage a ranch for Russell and Dougherty and came to the Brooks area in October of 1960. He farmed until retiring to Brooks to the Orchard Manor in the fall of 2000. Yvonne Janex and Winston were married in High River on December 28th, 1949. Winston served overseas as a Lineman with the Canadian Army during the Second World War. He served on the Boards of the Cassils REA, the Newell Grazing Association and the Brooks and District Rural Fire Department. He was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion – EID Branch. Winston will be lovingly remembered for his dedication to his family and for his honesty. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother Arthur. Winston is survived by his loving family, wife Yvonne of Brooks, son Bill of Brooks and his sons Wayne and Lee; son Gene of Brooks and his wife Deanna and their daughter Laramie and their son Cody; son Ken of Brooks and his wife Della and their son Keith (Jen) and daughters Lasha and Keita and their daughter Anna (Kevin) and daughter Makayla; sister Jane (Ted) of Toronto; brother Diamond (Betty) of Brandon and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, August 20th from Smith Memorial Chapel. Rev. John Theiss officiating. Pallbearers are grandchildren, Keith, Anna, Wayne, Lee, Laramie and Cody.
