    RASMUSSEN – Emma Rasmussen, widow of the late Chris Rasmussen, passed away in Calgary on December 16th, 2003 at the age of 88 years. Born in Schuler on June 27th, 1915 Emma was raised in the Schuler area. She came to the Brooks area and did cooking, cleaning and child care in the area. Chris and Emma were married in the fall of 1936 and farmed in the One Tree District until retiring in 1964. She had been a member of the EID Legion and the Prairie Pioneers. She will be remembered for her great love and care for her family, especially her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and sewing and loved music and dancing. Emma had played the harmonica, violin and banjo. She was predeceased by Chris on March 16th, 1986; her parents George and Hanna; brothers Andy Bender and Bill Bender and sister Edna Carrobourg. Emma is survived by her sister Ida Houseman of Brooks; 3 brothers Jake Bender of Hanna, Leonard Bender in Saskatchewan and George Bender in Manitoba and nieces and nephews. Family Services were held at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, December 23rd from Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Bishop Nestor Martinez officiated.
