Rasmussen – Ane Marie Rasmussen of Brooks, beloved wife of Hans Rasmussen, passed away peacefully on November 4th, 2004 in Brooks at the age of 80 years. Born in Denmark on March 9th, 1924 Marie received her schooling there. Marie and Hans were married during the Second World War in Denmark and immigrated to Brooks in the spring of 1948 where they resided since. She worked a few years at the Brooks Horticultural Centre and also farmed in the One Tree Area. Marie was a member of the Royal Purple. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Marie will be remembered for her generosity and her unselfishness. She was predeceased by a daughter-in-law Georganne, her parents and 6 brothers. Marie is survived by her loving family, husband Hans of Brooks; son Svend (Joan) of Brooks; daughter Marion McNalley and her husband Dave of Okotoks; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews in Denmark. A private family service was held. Rev. John Theiss officiated. Active Pallbearers were Carolyn Henrickson, Brent Rasmussen, Staci McNalley and Jill Beattie.
