RAMER – Rev. Charles Edward Ramer, beloved husband of Ruth Ramer of Duchess, passed away peacefully in Brooks and went home to be with his Lord and Savior on December 25th, 2003 at the age of 68 years. Born on December 25th, 1935 in Duchess Charles received all his education there and eventually took over the family farm. Charles and Ruth Brubaker were married on October 6th, 1957 in Duchess and had resided there since. They sold the family dairy farm in 1968 and Charles was ordained into the ministry serving as Pastor at the Duchess Mennonite Church, until his passing. He also served many years on the EID Ministerial Association. Charles was predeceased by 2 infant brothers James and Donald, sister Beth and parents Clarence and Ethel. He is survived by his loving family, wife Ruth of Duchess; 6 children, Armand and his wife Kathy of Duchess, Ginny Juss and her husband Malcolm of Calgary, Rosie Snider and her husband Greg of Duchess, Priscilla Holt and her husband Jaye of Irma, Alberta, Susie Thiele and her husband Gary of Brooks and David and his wife Stephanie of Middlebury, Indiana; 10 grandchildren; 3 sisters Ginny (Raymond) Brubaker of St. Albert, Joanne (David) Siemens of Calgary and Doreen (Eldon) Ropp of Duchess; 2 brothers Robert (Phyllis) of Broadway, Virginia and William (Charmaine) of Spruce Grove and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 30th from the Duchess Mennonite Church. Rev. Alvin Penner and Rev. Ray Landis officiated. Honorary Pallbearers were Charles’s granddaughters Melanie Snider, Kelsey Ramer and Mikayla Ramer. Active Pallbearers were Charles’s grandsons Jeremy Ramer, Nathan Ramer, Corey Ramer, Damon Ramer, Jason Snider, Declan Holt and Wesley Neufeld.
