Michael – Carol Diane Michael of Bassano, Alberta, beloved wife of Costas “Gus” Michael, passed away in Calgary, Alberta on Tuesday, March 5th, 1964, at the age of 65 years. Carol was born in Calgary on January 28th, 1959, the 4th of 5 children. Carol found her calling working in the food services. She was a tremendously talented and accomplished baker. Carol would set up a table at the local indoor farmer’s market in Oliver, British Columbia and routinely sold all her baked goods the first day! She married Costas “Gus” Michael on August 30th, 1992, and spent the remainder of her days with him. She was predeceased by her parents, Daniel and Winnifred Beard; mother-in-law Evelyn Stolen and sister-in-law Eleni Hirt. Carol is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Costas “Gus” Michael; siblings, Kenneth “Blaine” Beard and his wife Betty, Barbara May Hutchings, Winnifred “Gail” Northcott and her husband Les and David “Owen” Beard and numerous extended family and friends. A Private Family Celebration of Life will be held in the spring of 2024. In memory of Carol, memorial tributes may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 2300 Yonge Street, Suite 1200, Box 2414, Toronto, Ontario M4P 1E4.
