It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Andre Joseph Labbe.
Andre’s tough, courageous battle with esophageal cancer ended the night of Jan. 1, 2016, while he was surrounded by family, at the Pincher Creek Hospital at the age of 59-years-old.
He was diagnosed with esophageal cancer on February 4, 2015 and was fighting a hard battle all the way to the end.
Born on Aug. 15, 1956 in Sainte-Praxede, Quebec, Andre moved to the Cowley, Alberta area in 1972 where he met his beloved wife Nancy Labbe and they were married July 19, 1986.
They graced the world with three beautiful children: Scott, Christopher and Stephanie. Their children have all married and have thus far graced Andre and Nancy with two beautiful grandchildren, with one grandchild on the way.
Scott married Candace in September 2013 and they have two children, Jared and Maxie-Rae. Christopher married Zabrina in August 2014 and they’re expecting their first child in March 2016. Stephanie married Shaun in October 2015.
Along with his children and wife, Andre is survived by his three sisters; Carmen (Dino), Helene (Irenee) and Sylvie (Daniel); his mom Rejeanne; his mother-in-law Shirley, father-in-law George. He’s also survived by numerous nephews, nieces and extended family.
Andre is pre-deceased by his dad Albert.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016 at the Snodgrass Funeral Home (1101 Main Street, Pincher Creek, Alberta) with Doug Rawling officiating.
