    KUHL: Ruth Evelyn Kuhl, aged 71 of Grand Forks, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2003 at Boundary Hospital. She was born October 24, 1932 in Duchess, Alberta, the daughter of Helmer and Emma Hansen. She grew up on the farm in Duchess and received her primary education at the Clancy School House. On January 23, 1954, she was united in marriage to her childhood friend, Richard Kuhl at Edmonton. They lived in Surrey and moved to Grand Forks in 1971. She worked for over 20 years as a postal clerk for Canada Post in Grand Forks. Her pleasant and kind disposition was felt by all who dealt with her at the post office. Ruth was a very spiritual person who had a strong belief in the natural order of the universe. Her talents included a keen interest in music, she loved the outdoors and was an avid birdwatcher. She enjoyed working in her garden and belonged to several service and social organizations. Ruth was very active in the community and was loved and respected by all. She was predeceased by her parents, and 1 brother, Herman. She is survived by her 2 sons: Donald of Grand Forks and Allan (Corazon) of Grand Forks; 1 daughter, Dorothy Kuhl (Paul Petersen) of Prince George; 2 brothers: Norman (Freda) and Sylvan; 4 sisters: Helen (Lloyd) Marquess, Bernice (Rod) Edwards, Edith (John) Verbicky, Carol (Hugh) Green; her 4 grandchildren: Dereck Kuhl, Braden Petersen, Carmen Petersen and Nathan Kuhl. Cremation has taken place. A memorial was held at 3 p.m., Friday, November 14, 2003 at Toews Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Federation of B.C. Naturalists, #307-1367 West Broadway, Vancouver B.C. V6H 4A9.
