    Kamp – Sigred Elizabeth (Colbens) Kamp passed away peacefully at the Brooks Prairie View Care Centre on Friday, June 1, 2007 at ninety-three years of age. Sigred was the oldest of eight, born to Colben O. and Nellie (Harris) Colbens on February 14, 1914 in Suffield, Alberta. In 1915 the family moved to Blue Grass where she started school, and then in 1923 the family moved to Tilley where she attended Renfrew School, and Brooks High School. On October 22, 1936 she married Albert John Kamp and together they farmed at Tide Lake until 1949. They had two sons John and Ken. The family moved to Suffield so the boys could attend school. Here she grew wonderful gardens, raspberries and flowers. In 1975 John and Sigred retired to Bassano, and enjoyed the many activities. She is survived by her devoted sons John and his wife Thordis, Ken and his wife Greta; grand daughters Lisa Kamp, Dana (Stu) Rathwell, Kendra (Scott) Dalmas; 5 great grandchildren Arthur Kamp, Stephanie and Carly Rathwell, Ryan and Kyle Kamp; sisters Dorothy Brooks, Phyllis (Harold) Duke, Cleota Affleck, Emma Colbens; brother Tom (Dorthy) Colbens and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband John in 1997 after 61 years of marriage, parents Colben and Nellie, in-laws Fredrick and Dina, sister Jean Frohberger, brother Ben Colbens, sister-in-law Ruth Colbens, brothers-in-law Sydney Frohberger and Jim Brooks. A pioneer and contributor to Alberta life, she was truly a great lady. Our sincere thanks to the Home Care and Staff at the Playfair Lodge for their devoted and loving care. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday, June 8 from Knox Presbyterian Church, Bassano. Rev. Peter Baek officiating. Interment to follow at Bassano Cemetery.
