WALPER – ROBERT “WAYDE”

    It is with the saddest of hearts that our families announce the passing of our dear Husband, Father, Brother and Friend, Robert “Wayde” Walper, on May 10th, 2008 at the age of 59 years after a long battle with a rare brain disease. Wayde is survived by his wife of 25 years, Gale, and their son, Cordero of Medicine Hat, his sister, Linda Senecal of Brooks; two brothers, Jim (Dawn) Walper of Victoria, British Columbia and John (Sandra) Walper of Bragg Creek, Alberta; his in-laws, Richard and Rose LaBatte and their extended families; and many nieces and nephews. Wayde was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Alice Walper. Wayde was a skilled welder and a dedicated employee of Alberta Gas Trunkline – Nova Corp – TransCanada Pipeline for over 30 years. He went on to be a consultant and service many other companies as well as continuing his relationship with his previous employer. Wayde enjoyed carpentry. He was a talented singer and dancer, loved all music, and all sports especially hockey – he was a dedicated and enthusiastic Tiger fan. He enjoyed the news, trivia and loved to read the paper. Wayde was deeply attached to his family and friends and will always be remembered for being a kind and loving man who was always willing to lend a helping hand. His happy spirit will be sadly missed. A Celebration of Wayde’s Life was held in SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, on Friday, May 16th, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. Interment took place in the Family Plot at Iddesleigh Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. As an expression of sympathy those wishing to remember Mr. Wayde Walper may do so with a gift to the Medicine Hat Palliative Care Society, 666 – 5th Street SW, Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 4H6.
