    Mr. Peter Vissey of Brooks, passed away on Sunday, October 19th, 2003 at the age of 97 years. Peter leaves to cherish his memory two sons, Freeman (Olga) Vessey of Airdrie, Alberta and David (June) Vessey of Summerside, Prince Edward Island; two daughters, Shirley Rossi of Calgary and Jenny Reity of Osoyoos, British Columbia; and 20 grandchildren. Peter was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Olive Vissey; all of his brothers and sisters; and his brother-in-law, George Reity. Peter was born on August 13th, 1906 in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, where he was raised and educated. He was employed by the Island Telephone Company in P.E.I. and served in the Canadian Army during WWII from 1940 to 1945. Peter settled in southern Alberta in the 1970’s and was a resident of Taber, Bassano, and finally, Brooks. Peter was a member of the Brooks Royal Canadian Legion. A private graveside service has taken place in Saamis Prairie View Cemetery in Medicine Hat.
