Trimmer – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Lee (Bud) Trimmer on Thursday, June 21, 2007 at the Brooks Health Centre at the age of 90 years. Mourning his passing, but celebrating his long, healthy, happy life are his wife of sixty-one years Dorothy, his children Bob (Myrna) Trimmer and Patti (Hubert) Rommens. Papa Bud will be sadly missed by his five grandchildren Derek and Kristy Trimmer and Kenton, Scott and Ashley Rommens. He also leaves behind brothers and sister-in-laws Marguerite Trimmer,St. Albert; Gladys Christensen, Brooks; Ellen(Hal) Nelson, High River; Harold(Sally) Scarrow, Red Deer; Clara(Lloyd) Steinback, Whitecourt; Danny(Coralee) Vescarelli, Calgary; Donna(John) Ferguson, Magrath as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Lee and Ada Trimmer, sister Mary, brothers George, John and Ralph Trimmer; in-laws Dan and Mary Vescarelli; brother-in-law Calvin Christensen, sister-in-law Mildred Scarrow. Bud moved to Canada in 1920 with his family to the Duchess area from Pennsylvania, USA when he was just three years old. He took most of his schooling in Duchess and Olds graduating from Olds Agricultural College in 1937. Bud was a compassionate, caring person who rarely uttered a negative word. He loved meeting each morning with his coffee buddies, visiting with family and friends, playing crib and solving crosswords. Bud farmed with his father in the Duchess area for over 50 years retiring to Brooks in l989 and continued helping his son Bob on the farm even plowing ditches late last week. He is a treasured soul and will be dearly missed by all his family and friends. Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM on Monday, June 25, 2007 at the Duchess Mennonite Church. Pastor Yvonne Terry of the Duchess United Church officiated. A private family burial service was held earlier.
