TOBLER – Edwin Harold Tobler, passed away on Monday, September 25, 2006, at the age of 79 years. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 45 years, Albertina Tobler of Medicine Hat, four sons, Mike of Victoria, B.C., Bruce (Karen), Brian (Carlena) and Darren (Tannis) all of Medicine Hat; a daughter-in-law, Barb Kitchen of Brooks; nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, four sisters, and many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed. He was predeceased by his parents Jacob and Mary Tobler, two sons, Calvin Harold (July 1984) and Leonard Wayne (May 2002); two brothers and one sister. Edwin was born on March 2, 1927 at Mendham, Saskatchewan where he grew up and farmed with his family. Ed moved to Alberta where he met and married Albertina in 1961. Together they farmed and raised their family of six boys in and around Southern Alberta, calling Rolling Hills home. Retiring in 1990, they moved to Brooks. To be closer to their boys and grandchildren Ed and Al moved to Medicine Hat to become doting grandparents. Edwin gained a passion for woodworking during his retirement years. He was a loving and caring father and grandfather. The sparkle in his eyes will always be cherished in our hearts. Our family would like to thank the staff of Alberta/Churchill wings of Riverview Care Center for their kindness, support and compassion you have shown our family over Ed’s last days. To the staff of Massey and Beaverbrook wings, no words can define the gratitude we feel towards you, for your love, devotion and above all the dignity you have shown our husband, father and grandfather these past five years. From the bottom of our hearts, we will be forever grateful. The funeral service was held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Thursday, September 28, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Loren Hosfield officiating. Interment followed in the Hillside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Massey/Beaverbrook wings at Riverview Care Center, 603 prospect Drive SW, Medicine Hat, T1A 4C2.
