Mildred Ruth Tait of Brooks, beloved wife of the late Norman Tait, passed away in Brooks on February 24th, 2014 at the age of 81 years. She was born on January 20th, 1933 to Alexander and Helen Kuz, on the family farm near Kindersley, Saskatchewan. Mildred married Norman Tait in 1950. They shared their life together in Hanna, Drumheller, Calgary and Brooks. She was a seamstress while her children were young, creating over 30 custom designed wedding gowns. Mildred owned and operated a speciality wool shop for several years in Hanna. Her passion for knitting, crocheting and needlepoint, resulted in many beautiful treasures. Mom spent the last years of her life in care facilities due to her failing health, the most recent providing her with the understanding, compassion and love that made her last days more comfortable. Our Family will dearly miss her. Mildred was predeceased by her husband Norman and daughter Trudy in November 2012. She is survived by her 3 children, Tami (Curtis), Troy (Debbie), and Trena (Jody); 12 grandchildren, Daniel (Heather) Ellis, Bobbie (Sterling) MacWilliams, Lane (Eva) Beck, Laura (Curtis) Senior, Sara (Marla) Ellis, Tyler (Amy) Muir, Joseph Muir, Keeley (Joel) Dunn, Meaghan Dunn, Madison Tait, Haileigh Tait and Jarod Tait; 14 great grandchildren, Adam and Brandon Beck, Chrystyna, Gordon and Harley Anderson, Teren and Tegen Senior, Katharina, Elisabeth and Kaiser Beck, Teagan and Jacob Muir, Emma Ellis and Jenna Dunn, her sister Mary Hudy and sister-in-laws Hazel Kuz and Alda Tait and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. Funeral services were held Thursday, February 27th at 2:00 PM from Smith Memorial Chapel. In memory of Mildred, if friends desire, memorial tributes may be made to either the Brooks and District Health Foundation for Long Term Care, Bag 300, BROOKS, Alberta T1R 1B3 or to a charity of choice.
