Pask – Marjorie Claire Pask of Brooks, passed away peacefully at the Brooks Health Centre on Sunday, June 29th, 2014 after a brief illness at the age of 78 years. Marjorie was born in Arrowwood, Alberta on January 3rd, 1936 to Claire and Lella Francis. She grew up in the oilfields of Turner Valley and High River, going to school in Royalties. Marjorie worked the summer of 1955 in B.C. picking fruit, before moving to Bassano to begin her training as a nurse’s aide at the Bassano General Hospital. While there in 1956, she met Wally and they were married in 1957. After their wedding, they moved to the family ranch northeast of Finnegan. They ranched and raised their family there until 1980, when they sold the ranch and retired to Bassano. While in Bassano, Marjorie became an avid golfer and pursued her hobby of painting and other crafts. Marj and Wally spent their retirement travelling across Canada and the US as well as a trip to Europe. They moved to Brooks where she resided until her death. She was predeceased by her husband Wally, brother Les Francis and sister Linda Francis. Left to mourn are her children, Lella Bosch of Sundre, children Phillip, Aaron (Carlie Ringland) and Amber (Chase Ayers), Jim and Cheryl Pask of Drumheller, children Bailey Morgan (Nathan), and Mitchell, Milton and Wendy Pask of Sundre, children Devon, Jordan and Reese, Wayne and Rose Pask of Bassano, children Chris and Dylan. She is also survived by a brother Loren Francis of Airdrie, numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 5th at 2:00 PM from Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Hall, Brooks. Mr. Gino Doucet officiated. Honorary Pallbearers were her grandchildren.
