Paschke – Edith Edwina Paschke of Brooks, beloved wife of Floyd Paschke, passed away in Brooks on Saturday, September 3rd, 2016 at the age of 76 years. Edith was born in Oxbow, Saskatchewan on February 15th, 1940 and received her schooling in Virden, Manitoba. She married Floyd Paschke in Brandon, Manitoba on September 8th, 1956. They lived in Swift Current, Saskatchewan before moving to Brooks in 1957. Edith worked as a housewife and also as a janitor at Tilley Brook Provincial Park. She enjoyed reading, camping and gardening in her early years, Edith was a wonderful cook and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Edith was predeceased by a son Len on November 14th, 2004, parents Muriel and Edwin Peers and a sister Grace. She is survived by her loving family, husband Floyd of Brooks: daughters Gayle Schmidt and her husband Brian of Brooks and Sherrie Schuh and her husband Shawn of Brooks; 6 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; 4 sisters and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on Friday, September 9th at 1:00 PM from Smith Memorial Chapel. Rev. John Theiss officiated. Interment followed at Brooks Cemetery. In memory of Edith, if friends desire, memorial tributes may be made to Brooks and District Health Foundation for Dialysis Machine, Bag 300, Brooks, Alberta T1R 1B3.
