    Nosterud – Jerry Nosterud, long time resident of Scandia, passed away peacefully in the company of his best friend on November 21st, 2006 in Brooks at the age of 36 years. He was born on May 7th, 1970 in Brooks to Tom and Sarah Nosterud. Jerry started his schooling in Rolling Hills and then continued at the Tilley School while growing up on the family farm outside of Tilley. He started working for Pat Stinnisson doing custom cutting and later started his welding career with McConnell Welding in Brooks. Jerry started his own welding company, JN Welding, which he operated until his death. Jerry and Kathy Vermeersch met on a blind date in September of 1991 and were married on July 1st, 1995. They moved to Scandia and over the years were blessed with 3 sons, Michael, Aiden and Bryce. Jerry will be remembered for his love of music, golfing, poker, camping, fishing, building his race car, and most importantly his love for his family and friends. He was predeceased by his Grandpa and Grandma Nosterud, Grandpa and Grandma Wiebe, Ove Pedersen, Corey Wiebe and Jeff Perry. Jerry is survived by his loving family, his wife Kathy; sons Michael, Aiden and Bryce; parents Tom and Sara Nosterud; in-laws Randy and Shirley Perry, Raymond Vermeersch; brother Thomas (Karen) Nosterud; sisters Wendy (Don) Barg and Charlene (Dennis) Mytrunec ; brother-in-law Michael Vermeersch and his fiancé Mandy; 5 nieces and 3 nephews. Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM from Trinity Lutheran Church, Brooks. Rev. John Theiss officiated. Honorary Pallbearers were Jerry’ sons. Active Pallbearers were Travis Reinson, Brad Sorensen, Aaron Suchy, Brad Hamel, Greg McAuliffe and Craig Schwengler. Interment followed at Scandia Cemetery.
