Landis – Jean Margaret Landis of Bassano, passed away in the Brooks Health Centre – Long Term Care on March 21st, 2005 at the age of 81 years. Born on November 12th, 1923 in Morin, Alberta Jean was educated in Golden Grain School. She was an avid and accomplished needle worker until she contracted polio in 1954. Despite Jean’s handicap and through sheer determination she was able to adapt and perform tasks others took for granted. Jean loved cooking, baking and especially reading cook books, camping, and her pets. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Bert, August 2001. Jean is survived by her loving family, 2 sons Barry of Bassano and Earl and his wife Lorna of East Coulee, Alberta and their children son Corey (Lynne) Reimer and their family Katie, David and Jasmine, daughter Shannon (Kevin) Fischer and their sons Brandon and Riley; 2 daughters Anita Roen and her husband Rick of Bassano and their children son Gavin (Andrea) and daughter Angie (Kerry Bodnar) and their daughter Jaylee; Donna Mowat and her husband Don of Nanton and their twins Justin and Jardi; brother Bill (Cecile) McIlvride of Sexsmith as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
