Kyla Anne Martin passed away with the love of her life, Dallas Sunstrum in a tragic accident May 29, 2009. Kyla was born on December 4, 1983 with her twin sister, Amanda. She grew up in Eston. At the time of their passing, she resided with Dallas at the ranch near Cessford, Alberta.
Family was especially important to Kyla. She loved all the things her family did together such as summers at the cabin, skiing every winter from the time she was four, a trip to Disneyworld, camping and most recently a trip to Roatan. Family included parents, sisters, cousins, aunties, uncles and grandparents.
Kyla loved and excelled at sports, whether it was basketball, volleyball, softball or track and field. She enjoyed art, taking many classes during her three years at the University of Saskatchewan. Many of her pictures hang on the walls at home.
Following university, Kyla moved to Medicine Hat and lived with her sister Amanda. She worked at Houston Pizza and Community Savings Bank. Later, she joined Dallas at the ranch and she worked at the Chinook Credit Union in Brooks.
Kyla is survived by her parents, Ed and Monanne Martin, her sisters Amanda (Damien) Evens, Sabrina (Brayden Meckling) and Tessa (Brian Wallace); grandparents Arda Schweitzer (Alex Houston), Bill and Charline Martin; aunts and uncles Gary (Susanne) Schweitzer and children Autumn (Mark), Lisa, Megan; Norine (Gord) Palmer and children Chantal (Serge), Danine; Mark (Martina) Schweitzer, and children Cody and Aaron; Dale Martin. She was predeceased by her grandfather Bill Schweitzer.
A funeral service will take place Saturday, June 6, 2009, at the Eston Full Gospel Church. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to Eston Caring Hands, c/o Lynne Warren, Box 667, Eston, SK., S0L 1A0
