    Dodman – It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Barry Herbert Dodman on December 28, 2023.  Born in Penticton, B.C. the second child of Margaret (Acton) and Orville Dodman on July 18, 1961. He will be forever missed by his wife, Susan (Nemec); mother Margaret (Acton) of Creston, B.C.; daughter Samantha (Colin) and granddaughters, Kayleigh and Emma who reside in Brooks and his son Jess who lives in Duchess; brothers, Robert (Jeanine) of Revelstoke, Rick (Lora-Lee} of Brooks and Michael (Wendy) of Penhold; sisters, Cathy Prins (John) of Brooks, Laura Dodman (Bruce) of Creston, Shelley Lindsay (Don) of Creston, Kim Bruckshaw (Andrew) of Oliver and Rachel of Kelowna, B.C.; Uncle Barry and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, which all held a special place in his heart. He was predeceased by his father, Orville on December 25, 2003 and his sister, Brenda Schmidt (Rick) April 17, 2009. He was raised in Revelstoke B.C. and lived in Golden, B.C. for a few years and in September 1990 Barry made the move to Brooks, where he lived at the time of his passing. He started his welding career at McConnell Welding and Construction, where he was employed for fourteen years. In 2005, he completed his journeyman welder certification while working at JW Welding. He worked at JW welding until 2016, when he changed gears in the oilfield industry and became a picker operator/oilfield hauler with Load and Go Oilfield Hauling. Barry was known by family and friends for his love of all things hockey and his knowledge of the players past and current. His favorite team was the Vancouver Canucks (forever). He followed and supported the Brooks Bandits as well and attended many games over the years and recently became a season ticket holder. Barry also had a love of vintage vehicles, especially Mopars and enjoyed attending car shows, drag races, talking cars and working on his project car over the years. Funeral Service will be taking place on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 2:00 PM from the Heritage Inn and Convention Centre. Rev. John Theiss officiating.
