County staff will grade an area of road where a private landowner applied their own dust abatement.
“We found some privately placed dust abatement that was not authorized by my office or anybody else in the county on county roads,” Mark Harbicht, the county’s director of municipal services, told council last Thursday.
He said the exact substance has not been identified.
“We know who the product is owned by and who applied it. We are going to be grading that product up.”
He said while there is the Traffic Safety Act the county follows, there is also a policy that states nobody conducts any unauthorized activities on county roads.”
Harbicht said the county provides a product for residents at a subsidized rate.
“We strongly encourage people to use the program offered by the county,” he said.
