The Brooks Bandits have dropped to third place overall in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) with a loss on Friday to the first place Penticton Vees and a win on Saturday against the Spruce Grove Saints.
On Friday there was no scoring in the first two periods but the Vees jumped to a 2-0 lead with a power play goal at 1:56 and their second goal at 4:32 of the third period.
Bandits Parker Lalonde scored his 21st goal of the season and the team’s lone goal at 16:18.
On Saturday the Bandits travelled to Spruce Grove where they defeated the 17th place Saints, 5-2.
The Saints were first on the board at 6:34 of the opening period but Bandits Liam Fitzpatrick responded quickly at 7:43 to tie the game. That was followed by Jace Letourneau to closed the period.
Nathan Free had an unassisted goal in the second period followed by power play goals by AJ Lacroix and Keith McInnis.
As of Monday, Penticton was first with 18-28-6-2-0 and 58 points, Trail Smoke Eaters were second with a record of 19-25-8-2-1 and 53 points while the Bandits are 20-25-7-0-2 for 52 points.
The Bandits final game of the month is in Salmon Arm on Friday and they will one again face Penticton on Saturday.
