    WEISS – Paul Adolph Weiss, beloved husband of Opal Weiss of Brooks, passed away after a lengthy battle with lung disease in Brooks on December 18th, 2003 at the age of 74 years. Paul was born in Cardston on June 8th, 1929, the youngest of 13 children, to Jacob and Mathilda Weiss. He received his early education in Cardston moving to Calgary at the age of 13 and completed his high school at Crescent Heights High. Paul began in the Oil Patch at the age of 19 years. He worked a number of years as a consultant with Pan Canadian and most recently owned Circle W Drilling in Kansas. Paul will be fondly remembered for his love for his family and baseball, his dedication to his friends, for his love of people, his sense of humour – he had some great stories — and for his great love for his dogs — Bing, Mike, Boomer, Caesar and most recently Cochise. He was predeceased by 7 brothers and 2 sisters. Paul is survived by his loving family – wife Opal of Brooks; son Rick (Carmen) of Dhahran, Saudi Arabia; daughter Connie (Herb) Hemsing of Brooks; son Todd (Lori) Weiss of Brooks; son Troy (Cathey) of Ogden, Utah; 8 grandchildren Rob (Catherine), Brad (Jennifer), Wesley, Jeffrey, Ashley, Kevin, Trevor and Tessa; 3 sisters Hertha (Bob) Walker of Rockyford, Hanna (Andy) Chisolm of Calgary and Emma Fowler of Medicine Hat and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 23rd from Smith Memorial Chapel. Kathy Hemsing Officiated.
