    Lambertus Petru van Oirschot of the One Tree area, passed away at his home on Wednesday, November 4th, 2015 at the age of 70 years. Lambert was born on February 9th, 1945 in Haaren, Netherlands to Lambertus and Anotonia van Oirschot. He attended Secondary Agriculture School in Tilburg, Netherlands and received a Bachelor’s of Art Degree in Philosophy from the University of Waterloo. Lambert resided on a farm northeast of Brooks, in the One Tree area and retired in 2010. His interests included agriculture, philosophy, poetry, playing bridge and construction. Lambert was active with the Brooks Prairie Pioneers Bridge Club, Bridge Base Online and numerous religious and philosophical discussion boards. He will be remembered as a generous, intelligent, and hardworking man, a great father and grandfather, who always put the needs of others before his own. Lambert had a gift for conversation with anyone, sharing religious and philosophical insight, interesting stories with a unique perspective and, sometimes, comical relief. He was predeceased by a son James van Oirschot and his parents Lambertus and Antonia van Oirschot. Lambert is survived by his children, David van Oirschot and his wife Allene of Okotoks, Jason van Oirschot and his wife Lana of Porcupine Plain, Saskatchewan, and Leanne van Oirschot of Brooks; grandchildren Broedy, Aislynne, Kyleigh, Kaeven, James, Molly, Kate, and Abby van Oirschot and Logan, Daxton and Macy Hickey; brother Theo van Oirschot; 2 sisters, Alie Jansen and Nelie de Jong and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 14th at 11:00 AM from St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Rev. Bryan K. Frank Celebrant.
