    Turner – Gladys Muriel Turner (nee Dent) passed away June 1, 2007 at Orchard Manor, Brooks AB. She was born August 3, 1914 in Bottril, Alberta to Charles and Margaret Dent. She received her schooling in Calgary and later lived in the Taber area. She married Charles Lenard Turner of Taber in December 13, 1932. In 1940 they made their way to Patricia with a team of horses pulling a wagon and a Model T, loaded with all their worldly possessions, including daughter Dorothy. Several years later two sons were added to the family, Barry and Doug. Many wonderful years were spent in Patricia especially Saturday afternoons which meant a trip into Bailly’s store for groceries then into the hotel for a game of shuffleboard and socializing with good friends. Unfortunately Gladys’ life was forever changed when Len was lost to cancer on May 18, 1972. Gladys remained on the family farm until 1999 when she retired to Brooks where she remained until her passing on June 1, 2007. She is survived by her daughter Dorothy Sillito of Lethbridge, son Barry and his wife Shelley of Patricia and son Doug and his wife Sandy of Stoughton, SK. She also leaves 7 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 6 great, great grandchildren, 1 sister Peg Cameron of Brooks, and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends as well as cousins in England. She was predeceased by her parents, her beloved husband Len, 4 brothers and son-in-law Donald Sillito. She was a wonderful baker, seamstress, gardener and friend. Gladys took pride in all her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren and loved to have them come and visit her. She was a warm and loving mother and will be greatly missed by all who loved her. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 6 at 2:00 pm from Smith Memorial Chapel. Rev. John Theiss officiating.
