TILLEMAN – Shirley Edith Tilleman passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2007, at the age of 77 years, beloved wife of the late Ernest Tilleman. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Wayne (Leslie) Willis of Edmonton, Floyd Willis of Hays, Marilyn (Elmer) Doerksen of Hays, Wanda Willis of Lethbridge and Richard (Cindy) Willis of Vauxhall; eight grandchildren, Noalene (Gary) (their children Arianna, Ciara); Justin; Shon; Dana (Paul); Lindsay (Lloyd); Dustin (Melissa) (their children Jayden, Abigail); Jared (Elisha) and Jesse; her twin brother Bill Hopkins; three sisters, Anne (Lloyd) Hicklin, Agnes (Chris) Lattman and Helen Russell; a sister-in-law Yvonne Hopkins and a brother-in-law Ray Greaves as well as numerous nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. She was predeceased by her husband Ernest on November 6, 2003; one brother Allan; four sisters, Betty Tiegs, Isabelle Greaves and Marjorie and Esther in infancy. Shirley was born on October 7, 1929 in Medicine Hat. She raised her children in Medicine Hat until she married Ernest on August 3, 1968 and together they moved the whole family to the Hays area where they farmed and later ran an insurance agency. They moved back to Medicine Hat in January of 1993 where they learned to golf. Shirley and Ernest loved attending the Tigers and Blue Jays games. Following Ernies passing, she moved back to Hays to live with Marilyn and her husband Elmer. Through the seniors quilting, her volunteer work at Taber Continuing Care and the Hays Playschool, she renewed many friendships and made many new ones. The funeral service was held in St. John’s Presbyterian Church (504 2nd Street SE) on Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. R. (Bob) Cruickshank officiating.
