SWANSON – Blaine Allan Swanson of Medicine Hat, beloved husband of Laurie passed away at Foothill Medical Centre on January 2, 2018 at the age of 63. Blaine was born on October 26, 1955 in Shaunavon, SK. His family lived on the family farm south of Vidora, SK before moving to Cardston, AB. From there, Blaine’s family moved to Brooks. He was a hard worker and spent his career in the Oil Patch. Blaine is survived by his wife Laurie; daughters, Jade Martinez (Seve), Jennise Swanson, Kathy Swanson; step-daughter, Jennifer Wiseman (Luke); grandchildren, Alexis and Liam; sisters, Norma Galloway (Bill), Linda Chamberlain (Tim), Gayle Christmas (Ray), Colleen Swartz (Reg); brother, Lorne Swanson (June); mother in-law, Gerry Johnson; brother in-law, Tim Johnson (Leanne) and sister in-law Marissa Stolson (Darcy), and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents Eric and Ruby; father in-law, Garry Johnson and stepdaughters; Michelle and Christie. Blaine will be remembered for his love of family, his generosity and zest for life. Memorial Services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brooks on Monday, January 8th at 2:00 PM.
