    SICKEL – Joseph Paul Sickel, August 20, 1935 to August 15, 2005. “Joe’s smile always warmed the room and touched many lives.” It is with great sadness we morn Joe’s sudden death at the age of 69 years. Joe’s life centered on his loving wife Wendy, of 23 years, and his devoted dog Toby, as well as many friends at the Husky Service Station and Oxbow Golf Course. He brought peace to a higher level, always quick to see the strength and beauty in others, a product of his warm and gentle ways. Joe was born in 1935 to Maria and Frank Sickel at Tilley, AB. He farmed in Tilley with his brother Tony until 1974. He then moved to Calgary to start his trucking business and continued being active in the industry to the present. Joe will also be dearly missed by his brother Tony (Elsie) Sickel, Ann (Vince) Fabian, Mary (Don) Berg, as well as numerous other relatives. He was predeceased by his mom and dad, Maria and Frank Sickel, nephew Perry Fabian, mother-in-law Chris Muntean. Funeral services were held on Friday, August 19, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home. If so desired, a memorial donation may be made in Joe’s name directly to the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation (1925 Park Road S.E., Calgary, AB T2G 3Y6).
