PFAHL – Dale David Pfahl, age 67, passed away on November 9, 2024 in Black Diamond, Alberta after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Dale was born on June 26, 1957 in Hanna Alberta to Wilbert and Hilde Pfahl, and raised on the Four Winds Ranch where he was surrounded by a loving extended family. After graduating, he went on to study Range Management at Olds College. Dale translated his education into a career as a Brand Inspector, Lease Rider, and rancher, but most of all a cowboy. Dale was an accomplished team roper and a Canadian Champion Ranch Roper. He loved the camaraderie of these communities.
Dale met his wife Lacey Cooper, in Brooks and they married in 1982.They started working towards their dream of owning land and building a cattle operation by purchasing a parcel land near Brooks. They welcomed son Carson in 1991.
Needing to expand, Dale, Lacey and Carson purchased a larger property near Rolling Hills, Alberta, where they eagerly embraced the community for many years. Recently, they purchased a property in the foothills near Black Diamond, Alberta.
When away from his ranch, Dale was also an avid skier, silver smith, and traveler, going to corners of the world including Argentina, Australia, Uruguay, Spain and Portugal to share his love of the horse trade with other craftsmen.
Dale will be remembered as the loving, kind family man he was, and as a loyal friend who was never far from a rope or horse.
Dale is survived by wife Lacey Pfahl, son Carson Pfahl, mother Hilde Pfahl, brother Devin Pfahl(Darlene), sister Lynette Lilledahl, and his beloved nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by His father Wilbert Pfahl, uncle Ivan Pfahl, and brother-in-law Wayne Lilledahl.
