Wenner – Patsy (Pat) Olive Wenner passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, November 10th, 2024 in Brooks, Alberta at the age of 75 years. On November 16th, 1948, she was born to Marvel and Helen Eide at the original Brooks Hospital. Pat became a little sister to Skip and Wayne and, eventually, a big sister to Barb, Garry, Diane and Donna, and was raised on the family ranch in Patricia, Alberta. She attended school at the Imperial Colony in Patricia and in junior high transitioned to Duchess School. Pat married Heinz Wenner on November 19th, 1966, at the Imperial Colony in Patricia and they resided in the Brooks area, where they raised their children. She worked as a waitress at the Voyager truck stop on Highway 1 for many years. In 1977, Pat and Heinz started P and H Oilfield Maintenance Ltd., which they ran until Hienz’s passing in 1992. She took on many roles with the company, running the office and assisting in the day-to-day activities. Pat’s most precious accomplishment of all was being a dedicated and proud mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved her family deeply. In her free time, Pat volunteered many hours with organizations in Brooks and area, giving back to the community she loved. Among those organizations, she was entrusted as president of Brooks Oil Wives for a few terms. Pat was president of the Ladies Auxiliary and eventually transitioned to being on the board for the Brooks Legion. She was a charter member for the Lioness Club; as well as a leader of the Brownie and Girl Guide troops, mentoring young girls and ladies. When not volunteering her time, Pat enjoyed knitting and crocheting and gifted many beautiful blankets to family and friends. She loved to play crib and taught her grandchildren to play and loved challenging them to a match. In addition to crib, she enjoyed dancing, playing bingo and was an avid spectator for curling and rodeo, with the chuck wagons being her favorite.  No matter if she was volunteering her time or doing one of her many hobbies, she loved the connection she had with her family, friends and community. Pat was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and will be remembered for her kindness, loyalty, candidness and unwavering love. She was predeceased by her husband Heinz; parents, Marvel and Helen; sister Diane; brother-in-law John and sister-in-law Trudy.
