Peyton – Louise B. Peyton of Brooks, beloved wife of the late Richard Peyton, passed away on May 21st, 2003 in Brooks at the age of 89 years.
Born on November 22nd, 1913 to pioneers of the Chinook district Ray and Ethel Robison, Louise also grew up in the same district. As an adult she held various jobs in Calgary before her marriage to her childhood sweetheart, on February 20th, 1939. Shortly after they moved to Rainier where they farmed for the next 41 years. Louise loved people, and displayed this love by befriending everyone she met. She was a great community worker, taking her turn in leadership positions and fully supporting others when she was not. Louise loved her family and was always proud of their accomplishments.
She was predeceased by her husband Richard in 1999, son-in-law Duane Swanson and granddaughters Laura and Debbie in 1973, and a great grandson Andrew Pipke in 1995. Louise is survived by her loving children, Dennis and his wife Laverne of Stettler and Gail Parker and her husband Lyle of Rosemary; grandchildren Darla (Loren) Ramstad and their sons Chad and Ryley of Stettler, Linda (Doug) Pipke and their daughters Alyssa, Candice and Courtney of Coquitlam, B.C., Richard Peyton of Toronto, Terry (Patty) Swanson and their son Graham of Brooks, Kevin (Judy) Swanson and their sons Warren and Ethan of Brooks and Penny (Dave) Hiebert and their children Duane, Miranda and Michaela of Fairview, A.B.; 2 loving sisters, Dorothy Kendrick and Ruth Cole both of Calgary and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were held at 11 AM on Monday, May 26th from St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Deacon Robert N. Wilson officiating. Honorary Pallbearers were all of Louise’s grandchildren and great grandchildren. Active Pallbearers were Terry Swanson, Kevin Swanson, Lorne Ramstad, Doug Pipke, Mike Graham and Rodney Davidson.
