Peake – Henry Arthur “Harry” Peake of Gem passed away at his home on March 24th, 2016 at the age of 88. Harry was born in Bassano on December 11th, 1927 to Walter and Mamie and received his education at Dorothy, Range Coulee and Gem. Harry married Pat Price in June of 1951 and they had 3 children; Harriet in 1953, Bill in 1955 and Patsy in 1959. When Pat passed away in 1959 he was left to raise the children and in 1962 he moved his family from Bullpound Creek to Gem where he resided until his passing. He was an honest, hardworking man who will be remembered for his love of land and nature. He had a great respect for birds and animals and the wildlife around his ranch were always well fed. Harry was a cowboy; he rode leases for Countess Grazing Association and for many years was a lease rider with the EID. He enjoyed a variety of historical subjects and was keenly interested in tracing his family history. Harry enjoyed visiting and although he lived on his own he was always thankful when family and friends made time to stop by. He was predeceased by his wife, parents, brother Richard, sister in-law Cassie and nephew Arnold Peake. Harry is survived by his loving family; daughter Harriet Armstrong and her husband Rick of Gem and their 2 children; daughter, Mamie Anne Armstrong-Olbrich (Phil) and their children Katie, Kylee, Nathan and Myja, and son, Jamie and his wife Lisa and daughter Riley; son Bill (Vern) of Chestermere; daughter Patsy Andrew’s (Wade) of Medicine Hat.
