He attended College in Chicago attaining a Board of Trade certificate; and worked at a commodities brokerage in Edmonton before starting his own ranch near Brooks.
Cattle prices fell, and Ross sold out, headed for Hawaii; where he taught scuba diving and also worked as a bookkeeper. On his return to Canada he worked towards attaining his Certified General Accountant papers; and worked in his own accounting firms until his retirement in 2010.
His proudest moments were being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; cycling across Canada in 2002 & restoring his 1956 Ford Sunliner.
Health problems had plagued him in the last few years, including advanced diabetes, kidney disease, congestive heart failure and stroke. He battled through bravely; but finally, the fight was too much for him. His final moments were peaceful…falling into a deep sleep; and then his heart stopped.
