Lyster – Theresa (Terry) Lyster of Brooks, beloved wife of the late Mack Lyster, passed away in Brooks on Wednesday, April 2nd, 2014 at the age of 89. Terry was born in Dodsland, Saskatchewan on December 15th, 1924. She completed her matriculation in Dodsland and went on to business school in a convent in Calgary. Terry and Mack were married in 1948 in Saskatchewan and moved to Ocean Falls, BC. Together they owned successful businesses in several B.C. communities. In 1965, they bought Lyster’s Clothing in Rossland, B.C. and in 1992 happily retired to Christina Lake where all the grandchildren loved to visit. After Mack passed away in 2007, Terry moved to Brooks to be closer to her 3 sons and their families. Her life revolved around her family, her church, her many friends, golfing and dancing. She was predeceased by 10 siblings. Terry is survived by her 3 sons, Don and his wife Marilyn of Qualicum, B.C., Barry and his wife Colleen of Brooks and Glen and his wife Nancy of Brooks; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 1 sister Agnes Kohlman of Trail, B.C. and numerous nieces and nephews. The Lyster family sincerely thanks the staff of Newbrook Lodge and Sunrise Gardens for their heartfelt caring of our Mom over the years. They are truly amazing. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 12th at 1:00 PM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Rev. Raul Hernandez officiating. Interment to be held at Mountain View Cemetery in Rossland, B.C. at a date to be determined.
