Lundquist – Isabelle Elsie Lundquist, widow of the late Werner Lundquist, passed away peacefully in the Brooks Health Center on July 13th, 2006 at the age of 88 years. Born on the family homestead near Divide, Saskatchewan on March 4th, 1918 she and Johan Werner Lundquist were married in Claydon, Saskatchewan on November 22nd, 1938. They came to Alberta in December of 1940 and established a farm near Rolling Hills where they raised their children. She moved to Brooks in 1997 and had resided here since. Isabelle will be lovingly remembered for her kindness, her love for her family, for her deep faith and for her special way with people. She was predeceased by Werner on February 27th, 1980 and by four sisters and three brothers. She is survived by her loving children, daughter Elsie of Calgary and five sons, Joseph (Marilyn) of Calgary, Leonard (Joyce) of Rolling Hills, Edward of Rolling Hills, Curt (Dianne) of Medicine Hat and Dale (Joan) of Red Earth Creek, Alberta; nine grandchildren, Leslie Lundquist, David Lundquist, Linnea (Greg) Andrew, Louise (Wade) Zawadzki, Trudy (David) Deschner, Cody Hourigan, Mark Lundquist, Jeffrey Lundquist, Andrea (Ben) Jenner; seven great grandchildren, Michaela Lundquist, Rayleen Lundquist, Jorja Lundquist, Nina Deschner, Paige Deschner, Karlen Deschner, Davis Jenner; one sister Lorraine Bodnaruk of Lethbridge; one sister-in-law Mary Hemsing of Brooks and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, July 18th, 2006 from St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Brooks. Rev Ian Gagne and Rev. Jim Hagel Celebrants. Active Pallbearers were Isabelle’s grandchildren, David Lundquist, Mark Lundquist, Jeffrey Lundquist, Greg Andrew, Wade Zawadzki, and David Deschner. Interment followed at Brooks Cemetery.
