    Mrs. Julie Juss, formerly of Brooks, passed away peacefully, surrounded by members of her family at the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary on April 30th, 2015 at the age of 89 years. Julie was born in Hafford, Saskatchewan on May 22nd, 1925 to Ingnacy and Ewa Buzikiewicz and was the 4th youngest of 15 children. She received her education in Kryder and Radisson Saskatchewan, and after graduation, attended Bedford Collegiate in Saskatoon to become a schoolteacher. She taught school for 4 years in several places in Northern Saskatchewan before moving to Alberta. In 1947 she left a teaching position in Melford, Saskatchewan for an opportunity in Iddesleigh, Alberta where she taught in a challenging one room school house. It was during this time she met Leo at a dance in the Osborne School at Tide Lake. He proposed April of 1948 and they married on July 10th, 1948 in St Mary’s Catholic Church at Tide Lake in Jenner, Alberta. Leo and Julie moved to Brooks where they rented an irrigated farm for 4 years before purchasing and settling on their own farm NE of Brooks, next to One Tree Lake where they lived for 59 years and together raised their family of 11 children. Her remaining 5 years were spent living at Whitethorn Retirement Village in Calgary and enjoying time with family. Julie was grandmother to 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Leo, son Eugene, son Grant, granddaughter Brigette, grandson Andrew, and daughter- in-law Barb. She is survived by her children Lionel (Val), Clifford, Dan (Brenda), Paul (Janice), Joanne (Tom), Richard, Malcolm (Virginia), Marlene, Laurie (David). Daughter-in law, Donna and Christine. Grandchildren, Brian, Marcel, Ben, Shelley, Ryan, Clayton, Darren, Junior, Vanessa, Stacey, Damon, Deborah, Rachel, Natasha, Joe, Karla, Jared and Ben. Great grandchildren, Emma, Ashley, Austin, Morgan, Riley, Abigail, Alexa, Lukas, Calem, Cole, Nova. Julie will be remembered best for her great compassion, endless giving, hospitality to the community, love for family and her Faith in God. A celebration service will be held on Friday May 8th at 2:00 pm, Victory Church, Brooks, preceded by a graveside service 12:00 pm at Brooks Cemetery. Pastor Bill Martin Officiating.
