Hofmann – Jean Hofmann of Brooks, beloved wife of the late Jerome Hofmann, passed away in Brooks on Wednesday, March 4th, 2020 at the age of 97 years. Jean was born on July 12th, 1922 in Edmonton, Alberta to James and Elizabeth Hunter. That autumn her mother passed away and Jean was welcomed into her Aunt Mabel and Uncle Kasper Green’s home. They were her Mom and Dad forever. She was raised on the farm in Enchant, AB. Then met and married Jerome S. Hofmann in November of 44. They raised a family of 8 on their farm in Scandia, AB. Later they moved to Claresholm and from there Mom and Ramona moved to Brooks, where she resided ever since. Jean has been a homemaker, farmer, gardener, wonderful cook and kitchen aide for two hospitals, Claresholm and Brooks. Jean is predeceased by her husband Jerome; parents James and Elizabeth Hunter and Mabel and Kasper Green; brothers; sisters; grandchildren, Justin Richard, Rhea Elody, Connor Cote and Leslie Feist; sons, Aloise (Al) and Garry; son-in-law Kenneth Jones and daughter-in-law Carol Smith Hofmann. She is survived by 6 of her children, Richard Brooks, Mabel of Edmonton, Jeannette (Hayward) of Lethbridge, Newfoundland, Anita of McBride, BC, Brian (Jerry) of Watson Lake, YK and Ramona (Phil) of Brooks; 20 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Please help us to Celebrate her Life on Tuesday, March 10th at 11:00 AM at the Cassils Community Hall.
