GYORFFY, EDNA ISOBELLE
1930 – 2024
Edna Isobelle Gyorffy passed away peacefully in Calgary, Alberta at Foothills Hospital on February 23, 2024, at age 94.
She was born in Brooks Alberta Jan. 20, 1930. Edna married Dennis Gyorffy November 24, 1949; he predeceased her on December 31, 2017.
She was brought up by the sisters at Father Lacombe home after her father passed away when she was 14 years old.
Worked at the Holy Cross Hospital in Calgary and Cedars Villa Calgary.
She was the loving mother of Donald Gyorffy, Brenda Chisholm, Alan Gyorffy all of Calgary and Dion Gyorffy of Grand Forks and will also be lovingly remembered by her 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Edna was predeceased by her daughter Joanne Henry and her 4 brothers Jim Horek, Doug Horek of Calgary, Joe Horek of Vancouver, and Kenneth Horek of Edmonton.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Eden Brook Funeral Home (17th Ave SW and lower Springbank Rd) on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, from 9am to10am. A funeral service will follow.
