    GREEN – Virgil Harold Green, 81, has made his final ride into the sunset on Thursday, January 11, 2018, leaving behind his loving wife of 48 years, Carol (nee Hemsing).
    Born in Crossfield and raised in Madden, Alberta, Virg was the son of Virgil Green Sr. and Mary (Brandon). Virg was a long-time resident of Nanton, and Brooks, before retiring in Turner Valley.
    Virg received his education on the “road of life”. He took on jobs ranging from farming, grocery clerk, gas jockey, bar tender, rig worker, and owning his trucking company. He was a master tradesman, with immeasurable skills in problem-solving.
    Virg had a passion for horses and rodeo, riding broncos in the Calgary Stampede, Hand Hills and Dog Pound Rodeos. He was an expert truck driver. An avid camper, he especially loved to sit around the fire. Virg had a great passion for his dogs. He was an avid reader of many genres of novels.
    He leaves behind his wife Carol, his sons Terry (Donna) and Virgil (Sheroma); and his grandkids Raegan, Emiya-Lei, Jack and Rhys. He is also survived by his uncle Bruce Brandon, his half-siblings Lyle Green and Evelyn Chapman and the S.B. Hemsing family. He was predeceased by his brother Dale and half-brother Billy.
    In lieu of flowers, donations to the Foothills Therapeutic Riding Association would be greatly appreciated.
    A memorial service will be held at 1:00 on May 16, 2018 at the Christ Church in Millarville, reception to follow. 04p
