Drake – Douglas Arthur Drake of Rolling Hills, beloved husband of Sharyn Drake, passed away at his home in Rolling Hills on Wednesday, January 16th, 2019 at the age of 75 years. Doug was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on November 15th, 1943 to Arthur and Ella Drake and moved to Rolling Hills in the spring of 1954. He married Sharyn Peterson on April 15th, 1966 and resided in Calgary and Patricia, before returning back to Rolling Hills. Doug farmed for many years before entering into the oil field industry. He enjoyed baseball and umpiring, slow pitch, coaching, curling, golf, the outdoors, camping, travelling and woodwork. Doug was a member of the Rolling Hills Slow Pitch Team, the Rolling Hills Golf Club and B.C.O.A. He will best be remembered for his community involvement, sports and his wood working. Doug was predeceased by his parents, sister Ruth Elaine and sister-in-law Shannon Drake. He is survived by his loving family, wife Sharyn; daughter, Diane Colbens and her husband Mark and their son Bentley; son Cam and his wife Shannon and their daughters Sam (Great grandchildren Layklon and Hudson), Kierra and Kaleigh; son Kevin and his daughters, Tenille Fehr and Charlize and son Max; sister, Linda (Richard); brothers, Randy and Greg (Kathy) and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 22nd at 2:00 PM from the Rolling Hills Community Centre. Rev. Debbie Daniels officiating. In memory of Doug, if friends desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Rolling Hills Golf and Country Club, General Delivery T0J 2S0.
