It is with great sadness the family of Chuck Dortch of Duchess announce his peaceful passing surrounded by his family at Brooks Health Centre at 70 Years of age. Chuck grew up in Calgary where he worked as a bouncer in many bars. He then went to offshore drilling in places such as Saudi Arabia. He then moved to Brooks and started at Superior Cementing and later took part ownership in Premium Plug Logging where he gained great success.  He later started ownership at Positive Pressure Testing with his son Stephen. Chuck was a very brave and strong man and it showed in his work and lifestyle.

He enjoyed fishing, riding his motorbike with his brother Jim and friends, spending time and having laughs with his friends and family. His Grand daughter Charlie was the light of his life. He was always sure to bring her treats and money for her piggy bank, she was the apple of his eye. Chuck always had a smile on his face and his laugh was nothing but contagious and loud.

He was pre-deceased by his Father John Dortch, Mother Marie Hankel and Sister Kelley Van Oene.

Chuck will be lovingly remembered and missed by his friends and family. In memory of Chuck, if family or friends desire, memorial tributes may be made to The Brooks Animal Protection Society (BAPS) in Brooks, Alberta.  A private service will be held at a later date with close family in Duchess.
