Connon – Della Grace Connon (Thompson) passed away on Monday, July 12th, 2021 in Bassano, Alberta at the age of 91 years. Born on August 2nd, 1929, the ninth child of Ernie and Sadie Runham near Bowden, Alberta, she grew up on a farm west of Bowden until her marriage. She married Bill Connon on August 9th, 1948. They were blessed with three children Catherine, Willetta and Gene. Della and the kids followed Bill throughout his Army career. After Bill’s discharge from the Army and with a few stops, they settled in Calgary, Alberta. After semi-retiring in the Okanagan, Della and Bill moved back to Alberta to retire in Bassano. Della loved to bowl and won numerous trophies over the years. She also had a green thumb and loved to garden. Della was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Bill Connon; her second husband of 19 years, Bill Thompson and 5 brothers and 3 sisters. She is survived by her brother, Cliff Runham and her sister, Eileen Obenauer; her daughters, Cathy (Brian) and Willetta and son Gene (Judy); her grandchildren Crystal (Michael), Candy and Michael (Nicole); her 7 great-grandchildren and 1 very special great-great-grandchild, Grace. The family will be sharing a Family Service at Smith Memorial Chapel. Interment to follow at Bassano Cemetery.
