    Thomsen – Dawn P. Thomsen of Rolling Hills, beloved wife of Robert (Bob) Thomsen passed away peacefully on November 2nd, 2020 at the age of 71 surrounded by loved ones. Dawn, born to Jack and Lorna Hutchison, started her journey under a fir tree in Nickle Plate, B.C. After completing her education in Rolling Hills, Alberta and Camrose, Alberta, she married Bob Thomsen on November 23rd, 1968 in Rolling Hills. They had two children and adopted two children, and then in 1978 moved to Chatfield, Manitoba. It was here in Manitoba that they took in a young teenager and raised him as their own. They returned back to Rolling Hills in 1986. Dawn always worked side by side with Bob, farming or doing any hobbies they loved. Dawn had many interests such as horseback riding, camping in the mountains, gardening complete with a variety of fruit trees, reading, and her leather work which included being very talented at braiding and tooling. Everything was a strong passion for her, that when she showed pictures or talked about them, you could feel her enthusiasm, and it would rub off on you. Dawn will be remembered as a very strong, kind, genuine and supportive lady. She has left a legacy of devotion, selflessness and love for her family. But she may be best remembered to some, for her cooking and baking, and always having an open door with a thermos full of coffee ready to be served. Dawn is predeceased by her parents Jack and Lorna Hutchinson. Dawn is survived by Bob, her husband of nearly 52 years; her children Tim (Jenelle) Thomsen, Jim (Dawn Rae) Gray, Tonia (Lynden) Smith, Lloyd Thomsen, Hazel Bergquist; 14 grandchildren; siblings, Heather Smith, John (Marie) Hutchinson and Gwen (Spencer) Pledge and many nieces and nephews. A small closed cemetery service will be held in the near future to family members with the knowledge that many will be there in thought and prayers. The family would like to thank Dr. Grobbelaar and staff for their wonderful care that was received.
