Shepherd – Joan Barbara Shepherd of Brooks passed away in Medicine Hat on July 20th, 2006 at the age of 72 years. Born in Vancouver, BC on March 25th, 1934 Joan received her education there. She worked as a cook around the world in oil field compounds, before moving to Brooks in 1976 and working in a variety of local restaurants. Joan loved animals, especially cats. She will be remembered for her friendship. Joan was predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her special friends Edith and Wilfred Penney of Brooks and Diane Gilbert of Brooks. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, July 27th from Smith Memorial Chapel. Rev. John Theiss officiating.
