Tateson – Alice Nelsinna Tateson was born on September 8, 1924, in Bengough, Saskatchewan, to Martin and Nelsinna Dahl, who had immigrated from Norway. Alice passed away in Brooks, Alberta, on May 3, 2020, at age 95 years. Alice spoke very fondly of her childhood in Bengough, where she helped her father deliver milk to the townspeople. She came to Brooks to assist a relative with her kids. It was while in Brooks that she met Archie. Alice married Archie Tateson on May 3, 1958. Alice ranched with Archie at Tide Lake and resided in Tilley for many years. Alice and Archie raised their children in Tilley and were active members of their church and community. She had a passion for animals and particularly loved horses, both riding and raising them. Alice loved farm chores and always had dogs, cats, chickens, goats, cows and horses. She is survived by her sons, Max (Corrine – Delaney and Dillon); Harley (Maribel, and Harley’s sons, Justin and Kody from his first marriage to Louise Tateson, along with their wives Kryston and Chantal); Arny (Karyn, and Arny’s son Matthew with his late wife Debbie, and Matt’s wife Carly) and stepchildren Rosemary, Twila and Sylvanus and their families. Alice was predeceased by her husband Archie, brother Max Dahl, and her parents, daughters-in-law Debbie and Valerie, late wife of Syl, as well as sons-in-law Bart Rockwell and Dave Sampert. In her later years Alice rediscovered her talent for art, drawing western pictures and horses. She had a bright smile and a cheerful disposition in any situation. She was always optimistic, and she never lost her laugh. A graveside service for the immediate family will be held in Bassano on Friday, May 8, 2020.
