BOUVIER – Lillian Bouvier passed away peacefully with family at her side on Oct 31, 2024 in Brooks, Alberta, at the age of 90 years. She was born in Montmartre, Saskatchewan, on April 9, 1934.
Lillian (Warbeck) married Andre Bouvier in 1954. They moved to Brooks in 1958 where they stayed and raised their family of four girls. She was the secretary at St. Mary’s Catholic Church for 12 years. Because of her skill with numbers, she was the bookkeeper for Andre’s businesses and other organizations. However, she mostly dedicated her time to being a mom and grandmother and helping others.
Lillian was involved in church and community groups, such the Parish Council, Catholic Women’s League, Brooks Majorettes, Girl Guides, TOPS and Pet Visitation. She was a board member for the Preventative Social Services, the forerunner to FCSS, and was most proud of her role in the formation of SPEC.
She enjoyed traveling, reading, music, playing cards, TV, movies and loved live theatre.
Lillian was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and will be deeply missed by family and friends. Lillian lived a life filled with kindness, laughter, and unwavering support for those around her.
Lillian is predeceased by her mother and father and stepmother, her husband of 58 years, and a stepsister. She is survived by four daughters: Charmaine (Bruce) Loewen, Janice (Bill) Swenson, Rita (Dean Baxter) and Denise Bouvier; seven grandchildren: Kris (Erin) Loewen, Jonathan (Megan) Loewen, Erika Loewen, Candice Loewen, Katelynne (Tom) Devine, Paige (Jeremy) Pal, and Haileigh (Erik) Hann; and eleven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two stepsisters Gina (Terry) Conroy and Dianne (Tom) McKinnon, and Maura (O’Connor) Musgrove who grew up like a fifth daughter to Lillian.
We would like to thank Dr. Thomson, Brooks Home Care and the team at Pharmasave for their help along her journey. Each and every personal caregiver who played a role in making Lillian’s last years comfortable holds a special place in our hearts.
A Funeral Service will be held at St. Mary’s Church on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at 2 pm. A memorial tribute and lunch to follow at the St Mary’s Parish Hall.
If friends desire, donations in Lillian’s memory can be made to SPEC at 101 – 327 3rd St. W. Brooks, AB T1R 0E7.
