The FCSS Citizen of the Year program that will be held this year is expected to be the last in the current format where the citizen and junior citizen are honoured with friends and family in attendance.
The program recognizes nominated Citizens and Jr. Citizens who have contributed to their community or school through volunteerism, however, over the past few years there have been few applications.
It’s expected that future years will have a banquet to celebrate all previous recipients.
“We’re thinking that we need to try something a little bit different,” said county councillor and FCSS board member Holly Johnson.
